Residential Renovation – Sloped
This project involved renovating a yard which new owners wanted to alter to better suit the needs of their family. The property had an undersized flagstone patio, large flat grassy lawn, and an underused groundcover filled hillside with a scattering of various trees. The property flattened off towards the back of the property.
The main patio was a small mortared flagstone was enlarged using similar flagstone to match and equipped with a bbq with cantilevered seating around it. A poured walkway leads to the raised patio off one side of the pool.
The natural shaped pool with a grotto enclosure and natural looking stone finish was built into the pushed back slope to maximize the lawn area below the pool. The grove of white birch trees became the backdrop for the raised stone walls of the pool. The pool being the main activity also has ample seating around it, both covered and uncovered.
On both sides of the property, a path leading up the hill and across and down the alternate side was incorporated. The ascent up the hill was designed with timber steps and crushed gravel. At the top of the hill, there are raised planters for gardening, a kids' play structure, and flagstone sitting area with views of the entire property as well as the hills beyond.
